In the third quarter of 2024, the Romanian market for film and television apps on a unified platform showed diverse trends across the top five applications, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies witnessed a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching around $54.6K by the end of September. Its weekly downloads peaked at over 61K in late July before gradually declining to about 14.9K at the quarter's end. The app's active user base saw an overall upward trend, growing from 150K to approximately 188K during the quarter.

Disney+ demonstrated strong revenue performance, with fluctuations leading to a peak of roughly $177.4K in mid-August. After a slow start, weekly downloads surged to nearly 29.8K in mid-September, and active user numbers increased from about 216K to a high of 292K before settling at 233K by the end of the quarter.

Netflix maintained consistent weekly revenue, with minor variations culminating in approximately $9.9K in mid-September. Downloads remained stable, fluctuating between 13.3K and 17.3K throughout the quarter. Active users hovered around the 730K mark, with slight dips and recoveries, ending the quarter at about 736K.

Voyo.ro had a notable download spike of over 35K in early August, followed by a decline to around 3.4K by the end of September. Active users peaked at over 44K in early August and then fluctuated, closing the quarter at approximately 29K.

AntenaPLAY saw a significant increase in revenue, reaching about $69.2K in mid-August. Downloads experienced a major peak of over 27K in late July but decreased to around 2.5K by the end of September. Active user numbers peaked at about 31K in late July and then declined, settling at 13.2K at the quarter's close.
